About these terms

These terms govern your use of Braiders.co.uk. By using the site, creating an account, claiming or submitting a listing, leaving a review, or subscribing to a Featured listing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The site is operated by Len Johnson (trading as Braiders). In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Braiders.co.uk; “you” means anyone using the site.

What Braiders is, and what it is not

Braiders is a directory. We help people find braiders by style and area, and we help braiders be found. We do not provide braiding services ourselves, we do not employ the braiders listed, and we are not an agent for them.

Any appointment, booking, payment or contract for braiding is strictly between you and the braider. We are not a party to it. We do not take bookings or handle payment for braiding services, and we are not responsible for the quality, safety, timing or outcome of any service a braider provides. Always agree the details, including price, directly with the braider.

Using the site

You agree not to:

Use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms the site or other users
Copy, scrape, harvest or republish listings or other content in bulk without our written permission
Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information, listings or reviews
Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes anyone’s rights
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, other accounts, or our systems

Accounts

You need an account to submit, claim or manage a listing, or to leave a review. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

Listings

Your listing content

If you claim or submit a braider listing, you confirm that the information is accurate, that you are entitled to provide it, and that you own or have permission to use any photos and other content you upload. You keep ownership of your content. By posting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store and promote it on and for the site while your listing is live.

You are responsible for keeping your prices, availability and details up to date. We may edit listings for formatting, accuracy or to fit the site’s structure, and we may decline or remove a listing at our discretion, for example if it is inaccurate, misleading or breaches these terms.

Unclaimed listings

Some listings are created from publicly available information before a braider has claimed them. How and why we do this, and the lawful basis for it, is explained in our Privacy Policy. If you are a braider and want your listing removed, email us or use the removal form on the listing page. We action removals within 3 working days, no questions asked.

Reviews

Reviews must be honest, based on genuine experience, and not abusive, defamatory or fake. Do not post reviews for your own business or a competitor’s, and do not include personal data about yourself or others. We may moderate, edit for clarity, or remove reviews that breach these rules, and we may remove reviews on request from the person who wrote them. Reviews reflect the views of the people who wrote them, not us.

Featured listings (paid subscriptions)

Braiders can upgrade to a paid Featured listing for added visibility on the directory.

Pricing and billing. Prices are shown at checkout. Payments are taken by Stripe; we do not store your card details. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually and renew automatically until cancelled.
Founder rate. Where an early-subscriber founder rate is offered, it applies for as long as your subscription stays active and uncancelled. If you cancel and resubscribe later, the then-current price applies.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your account or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period, and your listing stays Featured until then.
14-day money-back guarantee. If you are not happy with Featured, tell us within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund that payment in full. After those first 14 days, we do not refund part-used periods. This does not affect your statutory rights, including any legal cancellation rights for digital services.
What it does and does not do. A Featured listing increases your visibility on the site. It does not guarantee bookings, enquiries, search-engine rankings, or any particular result.
VAT. Prices include VAT where applicable; VAT details appear on your receipt.

Our content and intellectual property

The site design, text we write (including the style and city guides), structure and branding are ours or licensed to us, and are protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce or reuse them without permission, beyond normal personal use of the site. Braider listing content remains the property of the braider, licensed to us as set out above.

Links and third parties

The site links to braider websites, social media and booking pages, and uses third-party services such as Stripe and Google Maps. We are not responsible for the content, availability or practices of third-party sites and services. Following an external link is at your own risk.

No warranty

We work to keep the directory accurate and useful, and we verify listings before they go live where we can. Even so, the site is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that listings are complete, current or error-free, that a braider is suitable for you, or that the site will be uninterrupted or fault-free. Always check key details, especially price and availability, directly with the braider before you book.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss arising from a braiding service, from a booking or dispute between you and a braider, or from your reliance on listing information. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business or data. For paid users, our total liability in connection with the Featured service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

If you use the site as a business, you agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your listing content or your breach of these terms.

Privacy

How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which form part of your agreement with us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. For significant changes, especially to paid subscriptions, we will give reasonable notice via the site or email. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections under the law of the part of the UK where you live.
