I’m Amara, a braider working from a small home studio in Peckham. I’ve been braiding nine years, most of that on knotless and box braids, and cornrows for men and boys. My thing is neat parting and tension that’s comfortable, not tight. You shouldn’t leave with a headache or a raised hairline.

I braid afro and textured hair, curly hair, and children’s hair from about four. If you have thinning edges or alopecia, tell me when you book and I’ll work gently around it, I do this a lot and there’s no judgement here.

First time? Send me a photo of the style you’re after and your natural hair, and I’ll tell you honestly what’ll work and what it’ll cost. Tea’s on when you arrive.

Booking and Cancellation Policy

A £20 deposit secures your slot and comes off your total on the day. I keep my diary tight, so the deposit is what lets me hold the time for you.

Need to move your appointment? No problem with 48 hours’ notice, I’ll shift your deposit to the new date, once.

Cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours, or don’t show, and the deposit isn’t refundable, since I can rarely fill the gap that late.

Please arrive with your hair washed, blow-dried and detangled. If it needs doing on the day there’s a £15 prep fee and it adds time. There’s a 15-minute grace period; after that I may need to shorten the style or rebook you, so the client after you isn’t kept waiting.

Deposits by bank transfer or card. I’ll send details when you book.

Add-ons: extra length, colour or ombre, beads and cuffs, priced at consultation. Hair is not included; I send a shopping list once you’ve booked.
